Both classic phenomenologists and contemporary cognitive scientists have argued that right from the outset our experiential life is characterized by a primitive form of self-consciousness.
This workshop aims to examine the role of affect-based relations in constituting self-consciousness and perceptual experience, and to explore potential ways of addressing the debate between minimal versus relational theories of self-consciousness.
